Children’s Sunday School Programs begin at 9:15am-10:00am in the Education Wing of FPC. Activities are for children Pre-K through 8th grade.
Sunday school is broken into two parts. Part one children go to their class rooms and are taught a lesson regarding the bible. Then the children go to the small chapel and under Ariel Huseman’s guidance learn songs that will be sung in worship.

Wednesday Night (6:00pm – 7:00pm)
Following our Wednesday evening meal all children between kindergarten and 6th grade gather in the chapel with Ariel and Kierson to practice music that will be sung in worship the week the children present their songs to the congregation.
In the Presbyterian tradition, acolytes participate in the worship service by carrying the Scriptures and lighting and extinguishing the candles calling the congregation to worship. In these traditions, the lighting of the candles in the worship service is a symbol of Jesus’ coming into the presence of the worshiping community. Before the extinguishing of the last altar candles, the acolytes relight their “candle lighter” and then process out into the narthex. This symbolizes that Jesus Christ is for all people everywhere. It also symbolizes the light of Jesus Christ going out into the world where believers are called to serve.
At First Presbyterian Church 3rd-6th grade students can serve as acolytes. We hold acolyte training annually. During that time the children learn the importance of worship and the significance of their role when leading in worship. The 3rd-4th grade student process the light of Christ and the 5th-6th grade students carry the Word of God (Bible).
